Text reflected in the book
Aviary – The 20’s-30’s
[Note of the first image, epoque photograph, belonging to the Żabiński’s Villa Archive - Warsaw Zoo]
There are fires that transfer light and heat from one body to another by direct contact
There are fires that transfer light and heat reaching another body in the distance
There are fires that have neither light nor heat
Fire is the desire of civilisations
There is a fire that reduces the earth to ashes
There is a fire that poisons the air
There is a fire that turns nature grey
We study fire to be able to extinguish its consequences
But when we look directly into the light
everything gets dark
We explain what is inexplicable in ourselves through the word nature
